DKSH Australia Pty. Ltd., a member of DKSH Holding Ltd, one of Switzerland's top 20 companies, today announced they have acquired the business activity of the Pro‑Tech Group Pty. Ltd., a leading distributor of Analytical Instrumentation and Laboratory Consumables.
The acquisition allows DKSH to further its strategic goals locally in providing an excellent fit for its rapidly expanding Life Sciences business which provides solutions in Laboratory Consumables and Equipment and further expands its Asia Pacific footprint in its Scientific & Analytical Instrumentation Business.
The Pro-Tech Group was established in 1992 after recognising the potential market in Australia for high end, flow injection analysis equipment. A philosophy was born that put product knowledge and customer support high on the agenda and, with an ever growing portfolio of premium products, Pro-Tech has rapidly gained a reputation in customer service and overall expertise in the analytical industry.
The acquisition provides DKSH with a premium portfolio of suppliers: Lachat Instruments, Elementar Andysensyteme, EST Analytical, behr Labor-Technik, PS Analytical, Pulse Instrumentation and Scinco Co. This places DKSH in the position of offering total instrument solutions to laboratories, in particular the environmental quality control sector.
Pro-Tech currently operates from an office based on the Sunshine Coast and in addition to Australia, also services all market sectors in New Zealand, Guam and the Pacific Islands.
Under the plan developed for the acquisition, the Pro-Tech business will be integrated into DKSH Australia and merged with the life Sciences business to form a new business line; Instrumentation, Life Sciences & Laboratory Products. All employees of Pro-Tech are continuing employment with DKSH and Greg Davies, the founder and owner of Pro-Tech, will continue to work within the business to ensure a seamless transition. The strong market reputation and success achieved by the Pro-Tech team will be greatly enhanced by DKSH's strong financial and national marketing resources with offices in every major city. Additional human resources will be engaged to increase sales and stake-holder satisfaction.
DKSH Group is among the top 20 companies in Switzerland, with its headquarters in Zurich. Founded and deeply rooted in Asia, DKSH has a network of about 280 business locations in Asia Pacific as well as 20 in Europe and the Americas. The Group operates in 35 countries with a total workforce of more than 20,500 specialized staff in four Business Units being Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Specialty Raw Materials and Technology.
